Montgomery Roots and Academic Journey, A proud Montgomery native, he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1987 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While in tech school, he pursued and earned a technical degree in Engineering and Architectural CAD Design. His academic path continued with a Bachelor of Science in (CIS) Computer and Information Science from Troy State University in 2000. Years later, he completed his (MBM) Master’s in Business Management at Troy University, graduating cum laude in 2005.
In 1991, he launched his professional career at Goodwyn Mills and Cawood, Inc. (GMC) as a CAD Designer. Over time, he advanced to the role of Civil Engineering CAD Manager, where he was instrumental in the design
and development of major projects including the Patriot Missile Site in Pike County, EastChase Lifestyle Center, Deer Creek Subdivision, RSA Tower – Downtown Montgomery, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of North America, in Hope Hull, AL and many other developments in the surrounding River Region. In 2006, seeking new challenges, he relocated to Georgia and joined RCMS Group as their Engineering Project Manager. There, he led civil engineering project teams both domestically and internationally until 2008.
Following a company restructuring that year, he transitioned into semi-retirement from civil engineering and returned to Montgomery to establish his own Engineering and Architectural CAD Consulting group.
Midway through 2008, he joined the Montgomery Police Department, driven by a deep commitment to serve and protect the community he always called home. Over the next sixteen years, he dedicated himself to upholding the values of integrity, accountability, and public trust. His tenure included leadership roles across multiple divisions, most notably in patrol operations and traffic homicide investigations, where he worked tirelessly to ensure justice and safety for all residents.
As he advanced through the ranks, he remained focused on mentoring younger officers, fostering interagency collaboration, and implementing data driven strategies to reduce crime and improve community relations. In mid 2024, he retired from MPD, closing a chapter marked by purpose and impact.
Later that year, he transitioned into a part-time Deputy Sheriff in a Neighboring County, continuing his service in a more flexible capacity. Simultaneously, he expanded his consulting business, Beeman Enterprises LLC, leveraging decades of experience in the engineering and architectural industry and advising agencies and organizations on law enforcement best practices, leadership development, and operational efficiency.

THE BACKSTORY
Martin, one of eight children born to Robert and Doris Beeman, grew up in Madison Park, Montgomery, AL. Madison Park was founded by former slaves in the aftermath of the Civil War, this community embodied resilience, unity, and hope. It functioned as a community that embraced shared values, including love for God, strong family structures, independence, and the belief in working for what we needed. We supported one another in times of need, along with the invaluable guidance and love passed on by Martin’s parents.
Martin's father, Robert, was employed at Universal Nolan, working as a carpenter specializing in cabinet and cooler making. Eventually, he retired at Jay R. Smith in Gunter Park. Despite not completing high school, he managed odd jobs as a nighttime janitor to make ends meet. Remarkably, he ensured that all his children graduated from high school.
Martin's mother, Doris, worked at Ideal Laundry and later retired from Jim Massey Cleaners as a laundry presser. Like her husband, she took on additional odd jobs such as house cleaning and selling Sarah Coventry Jewelry to support the family. Despite not having a high school diploma, she obtained her GED. Martin's mom was a trailblazer for equality, actively participating in advocacy efforts, including traveling to Washington DC - Capitol Hill with local leaders to address concerns about utilities in Madison Park. She instilled strong values and morals in her children, emphasizing respect for others and integrity.

EARLY HOMELIFE
Martin's family resided at the bottom rung of the economic ladder, encountering difficult circumstances. Martin shared a bedroom with three brothers, lacked indoor plumbing until he turned eight, and bathed on the back porch in a #10 metal tub. Each of his siblings had assigned household duties; the boys cared for the pigs, tended to the crops and maintained a well groomed lawn.
His younger sisters managed house cleaning, while the eldest sister handled clothes washing on a rub board and prepared meals for lunch and dinner. From these humble beginnings, his journey to present accomplishments has shaped his perspective and fueled a
determination to positively impact the familiar community.
Overcoming challenging circumstances, Beeman's values were molded by his parents; hard work and dedication, reflected in his service and protection of Montgomery.

BEEMAN'S PLANS WITH
VISCUE
His mayoral candidacy declaration underscores his comprehensive knowledge of Montgomery's intricacies and his visionary approach to its future. Having covered every square mile, he possesses an in-depth understanding of the City's dynamics, challenges, and potential, demonstrating commitment to fostering positive change.
Beeman exudes confidence in his ability to lead with integrity and with authority, showcasing a determination to make a meaningful impact and promote unity in the community he loves.
As your next mayor, I am committed to leading Montgomery with values that prioritize our community's well-being and future. Our community is seeking change; we desire A BETTER MONTGOMERY! So, this is the foundation of my platform: VISCUE; which consists of six core principles: VISION, INTEGRITY, SAFETY, CLEANLINESS, UNITY, and ENERGETIC CITY. Together, we can create a BETTER MONTGOMERY!
- ML Beeman
VISION
Montgomery deserves a bold vision for the future. I will champion initiatives that enhance our education system, promote business development, eradicate homelessness, confront drug addiction and invest in technological advancements. By fostering a growth mindset, we can ensure that our workforce is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow, making Montgomery a hub of innovation and opportunity.
INTEGRITY
Integrity is the foundation of effective leadership. I pledge to be transparent and truthful with our citizens, consistently communicating our goals and progress. My administration will govern with respected authority, promoting an environment where collaboration, trust, and integrity prevail.
SAFETY
Our city’s safety is paramount. I will work tirelessly to implement effective strategies to reduce violence, reckless driving, and thefts. This means increasing police numbers, community policing efforts, investing in public safety infrastructure, and fostering a culture where everyone feels secure to enjoy our neighborhoods, parks, and businesses without fear. Montgomery will become the safest (crime free) of all 67 counties in Alabama! Under my administration, we will establish precincts across all four quadrants of Montgomery and deploy a mobile command station to enhance public safety and responsiveness.
CLEANLINESS
A clean city is a proud city! I will make sure our streets, and public spaces are safe, clean, and well cared for by enforcing existing laws while also offering help to those who need support. Our roads will be
properly repaired and resurfaced on a regular schedule basis, following Alabama Department of Transportation standards, so Montgomery’s streets remain smooth, safe, and reliable for years.
UNITY
Montgomery is at a crossroad, and it is time to foster unity. We are stronger together, and I will work to bridge divides by promoting cultural exploration and community engagement. Our children and
grandchildren deserve a vibrant city that celebrates diversity and encourages positive change.
ENERGETIC CITY
Let’s transform Montgomery into an energetic city that attracts residents and visitors alike. I will advocate for new grocery stores, large chain restaurants, family entertainment options, and modern infrastructure that reflects our community's dynamic spirit. Together, we can cultivate a sense of pride in our city and ensure that it remains a place of joy and opportunity.
